depth perception / wrench detention

Date posted:

In the darkest night is blindness.
You cannot see.
It envelopes you like an illness.
Neverendingly

its depth is imperceptible
vastness overwhelming
evading sensory override
infinite tenebrosity

but with each passing minute
that drag like encumbered feet
pin pricks then glorious beams appear
light unfolds the numbered sheets

In the grip of fear is chaos.
You cannot escape.
It clasps you like a monkey wrench.
No movements left to make.

its strength is insurmountable
deadening all anticipation
emotion imprisons logic
impossible emancipation

but with each passing minute
that clenches like a gator's jaw.
A time comes when peace returns
and freedom comes to the fore.
